Hi Jenita!

Thanks! I know we have quite a few folks in our area very active in the arena of rail transport. I've had some great conversations with them.

Our area was once criss-crossed with small guage track. My own area, Federal Valley, has a history of passenger rail running at least 3x daily for a population that was around 30,000 at that time. The track has all been removed, the people and the communities have virtually disappeared from the map. It's one of the reasons that it was so exciting to see the road sign for Broadwell magically appear one day.

I'm looking forward to checking out the Ohio Passenger Rail train site and agree with you that we should try to develop the linkage. Thanks!

I've also filed your note in the discussion topic above titled: Transition Ohio Initiatives: public outreach planning, collaboration, info and resource sharing.

Hey Ohio Mullers, I wanted to let you know about a new state-wide online network whose purpose is to create a viable passenger train system in Ohio. I think sustainable mobility is an important part of our transition and trains help meet that need. Please check it out at http://www.OhioPassengerRail.ning.com

I think we can contribute there and encourage those folks to visit here too.

Hi Glenn...I've got to pass on the road trip but thanks for asking!
There is also a training in Bloomington, IN on April 18/19 and plans are moving forward for one down here, Meigs County, in the fall. kj
(I attended a training in LA in Dec.)

I saw this on the National Site Events list:

http://transitionus.ning.com/events/the-2day-training-for

2-Day T4T in Stelle, IL March 7 & 8.

This course, designed by the founders of the Transition Network and taught by Bill and Becky Wilson, is designed to give a detailed introduction to the most important skills necessary to successfully set up, develop, and run a Transition project in your locality.

It is designed for people who are thinking of creating a transition initiative or who have already begun.

There's also one in Montpelier, VT --

Anyone up for a road trip?? ........g
